In 2009 Pierre first ventured out of traditional jewelry design and unknowingly towards geometric jewelry design when he made a fine street jewelry design for himself, Signel traffic signal themed fine jewelry. His goal was to incorporate the so called “four precious gemstones”; diamond, ruby, emerald and sapphire, into a fine street jewelry design. He found it a natural progression, an easy transition from his traditional colored gemstone fine jewelry design background. Signel also marked first use of the signature Cajuel Eccentric Diamond to symbolize pure visible light, the white of a streetlight. These carefully selected fine colored gems are set in bright yellow 18 karat gold. The Signel jewelry collection is comprised of traffic signal jewelry designs, bold pop art subject in a new art deco style. The intent was colorful, new and different fun fine street jewelry, casual jewels. He wanted something featuring the colors of what used to be called the “four precious gems”. The result was Signel fine street jewelry. Red gemstone ruby stop light. Emerald is the green gemstone go light and sapphire is the beautiful yellow gemstone for caution. The larger offset Cajuel Eccentric Diamond completes the quartet. Black onyx plants those models firmly into the art deco field. Not many common things are encountered more often than a traffic light, and fewer actually control you. They give orders you must follow, stop and go for example. They played a bigger part in our 20th century lives than we know now. They will become obsolete and disappear in this new millenium. When your grandchildren ask, “What’s a stoplight?”, explain with your fine street jewelry. Signel traffic signal jewelry is much more a sign of our times than we realize.
